The Standard Capacity MERV 13 filters are 80% efficient at removing 1 micron (0.0000393") particles and meet the Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards and will capture airborne particles as small as .3 microns. Some particle types captured are pet dander, mold spores, ragweed pollen, dust mite debris, microscopic allergens, odor, tree pollen, grass pollen, oil smoke, tobacco smoke, bacteria, insecticide dust, lead dust, and sub-pollen particles capable of reaching lower airways and causing clinical symptoms of Asthma.
